Regime of entry for citizens of Ukraine

Allowed. There is a ban on the entry of people who have visited Brazil, India or South Africa within the last 14 days.

All passengers aged 5 and over must present a negative test for COVID-19 taken within 7 days prior to arrival.

Vaccinated persons must provide a document confirming receipt of a full course of vaccination against COVID-19.

Vaccines approved by WHO are recognized.

Mode of transit passage

Allowed. All transit passengers (except children 5 years old) must present a negative test for COVID-19 taken within 7 days prior to arrival.

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda has immediately updated its travel advisories to ensure the continued safety of travelers and residents. VC Bird International Airport is open for international and regional air traffic. The Port of Antigua Authority is open to cargo vessels, pleasure craft and ferries that are required to follow all protocols issued by Port Health.

The state continues to implement a combination of screening, testing, including random testing of arriving passengers, issuance of monitoring bracelets, and other measures to reduce the risk of any new cases of COVID-19 being brought into the country. In addition, steps have been taken to quickly identify any imported cases. This strategy aims to protect and safeguard the health of both residents and visitors to Antigua and Barbuda.

Citizens and residents of Antigua and Barbuda are strongly advised to review travel advisories for their countries of origin and destination before traveling at this time.

The following protocols are used:

  1. Arrival passengers are not required to provide proof of complete vaccination with a 2-dose COVID-19 vaccine or a single-dose COVID-19 vaccine approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) or the Ministry of Health and Environment (MOHWE) to obtain a permit to enter Antigua and Barbuda. All returning citizens and residents are exempt from this condition (see Protocol #6 for further guidance on partially/unvaccinated returning citizens and residents). Children under the age of eighteen (18) arriving at the port of entry are exempt from this requirement.
  2. Completely vaccinated arriving passengers are not required to present a negative PCR/Rapid Antigen Test result for entry into Antigua and Barbuda unless they show symptoms of possible infection. This also applies to transit passengers.
  3. Partially/unvaccinated passengers without symptoms of COVID 19 are allowed entry provided they:
  4. Provide a negative certified PCR result taken no later than three (3) days or rapid antigen test done no later than 24 hours prior to arrival in Antigua and Barbuda
  5. Take an RT-PCR test upon arrival at your own expense

in. Quarantine for ten (10) days in their own homes if they are partially vaccinated

ie:
i. Or received 1 dose of a 2-dose vaccine OR

  1. 2nd dose of 2-dose vaccine received less than two weeks before arrival).
  2. Quarantine for fourteen (14) days in their own homes if they are not vaccinated.

If symptoms appear during quarantine, the person must be placed in isolation and tested for COVID-19.

Unvaccinated minors between the ages of five and eighteen must provide a negative PCR test four (4) days or less from the date of testing. Unvaccinated minors not staying at a certified resort/accommodation (Airbnb) may be required to self-quarantine for fourteen 10-14 days.

  • Children under the age of five (5) entering Antigua and Barbuda DO NOT need an RT-PCR test for COVID-19.
  • Unvaccinated returning citizens and residents without symptoms of COVID 19 are allowed entry provided they:
  • Provide a certified negative PCR/rapid antigen test result taken no later than four (4) days prior to arrival in Antigua and Barbuda.
  • Pass RT PCR testing upon arrival insweet account.

in. Quarantine for ten (10) days in their own homes if they are partially vaccinated

i.e

  1. Either received 1 dose of 2-dose vaccine OR
  2. The 2nd dose of the 2-dose vaccine was received less than two weeks prior to arrival.
  3. Quarantine for fourteen (14) days in their own homes if they are not vaccinated.

If symptoms appear during quarantine, the person must be placed in isolation and tested for COVID-19.

  1. Arriving passengers authorized to quarantine at home or ordered to remain in a government quarantine facility may be required to wear a monitoring bracelet in accordance with quarantine management regulations.
  2. Visitors are required to follow all protocols during their stay and patronize only COVID-19 certified businesses such as restaurants and tours for the duration of their trip.
  3. Medically exempt passengers arriving for medical treatment/procedures must test negative for COVID-19 by RT-PCR within four (4) days of flight. They must also follow the Ministry of Health’s guidelines for the transfer of patients to Antigua and Barbuda, including:
  4. a) Medical transfer request letter from the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the country of origin to the CMO of Antigua and Barbuda, which is also the quarantine authority.
  5. b) Medical opinion with a detailed description of the patient’s condition, the necessary treatment and the urgency of the situation.
  6. c) Letter of acceptance from the receiving institution that the patient has been accepted for treatment, together with the name of the doctor who will treat the patient.
  7. d) Intended address in Antigua and Barbuda and name and telephone number of contact person, if available.
  8. All arriving passengers must complete a medical declaration form, upon arrival in Antigua and Barbuda they will be screened and temperature checked by port health authorities. Passengers who knowingly make false declarations of negative COVID-19 test results or vaccinations upon arrival will be subject to penalties in accordance with the laws of Antigua and Barbuda.
  9. Passengers arriving with symptoms of COVID 19 may be isolated according to the decision of the health authorities.
  10. Transit passengers/crew requiring overnight accommodation should proceed to a hotel or certified government facility to await departure.
  11. Rapid antigen tests will be permitted for departing passengers in cases where host states allow their use for persons returning to their countries of origin. Hotels will have to provide this service to their guests.

Military ships/aircraft and other vessels carrying food, medical supplies, humanitarian and emergency cargo will be required to comply with the quarantine instructions established by the Quarantine Authority as well as issued by the Port Health Service and must provide prior notification prior to arrival.

These marine traffic restrictions and subsequent instructions issued by the Antigua Port Authority during a state of emergency shall not restrict vessels engaged in safe passage and/or transit passage in the territorial seas and/ or archipelagic waters of Antigua and Barbuda, in accordance with the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.

This Travel Warning supersedes ALL previous Travel Warnings issued by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.
