What entry restrictions apply due to the COVID-19 coronavirus and what documents must be presented?

Entry into Iraq on the basis of a certificate of negative PCR test results or on condition of full vaccination against COVID-19

As of January 1, 2021, in general, all persons traveling to Iraq by air must present one of the following documents prior to travel. This is required regardless of the country they are entering from.

Negative result of the nucleic acid amplification test (PCR, PoC-PCR) in Arabic or English. The test must be taken a maximum of 72 hours before entry (the moment of taking the swab).

Alternatively, a negative result of an express antigen test in Arabic or English.

If you have previously stayed in a risk zone or an area with a large number of cases of infection, you must take the test a maximum of 48 hours before entering, if you have previously stayed in a zone (zones) with different strains of the coronavirus, you must take the test a maximum of 48 hours before entry.

for persons who have undergone vaccination:

Confirmation of vaccination in digital or paper form (for example, yellow WHO vaccination passport).

Vaccination should be carried out with one of the vaccines listed on the website of the Ministry of Health of Iraq.

Vaccination with the last necessary dose must be carried out at least 14 days before entry;

for persons who have recovered from the disease:

Positive result of the PCR test, which was done at least 48 times before entry.

Travelers should retain the test results for the duration of their entry into Iraq and provide them to the competent authorities upon their request.

What to do if the validity period of the foreign passport expires?

If the validity period of the biometric foreign passport expires, it is necessary to contact the Consular Department of the Embassy to extend the validity period of the passport. Consular action is free of charge and is carried out on the day of application.

What to do if you have a child without a foreign passport?

It is necessary to contact the Consular Department of the Embassy to enter data about the child in the foreign passport of one of the parents – citizens of Ukraine. Have with you 2 photos of the child measuring 3.5*4.5, the original and a copy of the passport of a citizen of Ukraine for the departure abroad of one of the parents – a citizen of Ukraine, the child’s birth certificate and its copy. Consular action is free of charge and is carried out on the day of application.

Border crossing with pets

Importation of pets is carried out in accordance with the established international norms, provided that the relevant documents for the animal and vaccinations are available.
