The possibility of extending short-term stay and visas for citizens of Ukraine
Visas can be issued at the migration authorities at the place of residence in Kazakhstan: C3 – work visa; C4 – work visa for in-demand professions; C12 – for treatment; and exit visas: B18 – due to the lack of grounds for a further stay of up to 30 days; B20 – up to 15 days in connection with force majeure circumstances. All other types of visas are issued by foreign diplomatic institutions outside Kazakhstan.

Should I apply for official refugee status?
No. Persons who could not find a job or whose visa or visa-free stay in Kazakhstan expires can apply to the Department of Employment and Social Programs at the place of registration at the regional level.

Crossing the border without a biometric international passport – yes or no?
Entry to the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan is possible in the presence of a valid passport of a citizen of Ukraine for travel abroad, the validity period of which expires at least 6 months before crossing the border. What to do if the validity period of the foreign passport expires?
Four months before the expiration of the biometric international passport, it is necessary to appear at the nearest consular department of the Embassy for its extension for a period of up to 5 years, and for children up to 16 years of age for its period of validity.
What to do if you have a child without a foreign passport?
In this case, it is necessary to come to the consular department of the Embassy with the child’s birth certificate and a 3.5×4.5 cm photo of the child in order to paste the child’s photo into the passport of a citizen of Ukraine for the departure of one of the parents abroad.
Border crossing with pets
With regard to animals that will cross the border of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the owner must have documentary evidence of vaccination, i.e. have a veterinary passport in which all relevant vaccines have been inserted.
