Despite the fact that Morocco ratified the 1951 Geneva Convention and its 1967 protocol, becoming the first Arab country to adopt asylum regulations at the national level, practice shows that the determination of refugee status in Morocco is carried out only by the local representation of the High Commission the United Nations for Refugees (UNHCR), whose decisions are not binding on the involved Moroccan structures.
The presence of a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19 is not mandatory today. However, the Embassy recommends having such a certificate in paper form at the time of entry into the territory of the Kingdom of Morocco.
Crossing the border without a biometric international passport – yes or no?
Between Ukraine and the Kingdom of Morocco, the visa regime for mutual trips of citizens is maintained (with the exception of holders of diplomatic and official passports). A passport, visa or other official document granting the right to stay in EU countries is not a basis for visa-free entry to Morocco. To obtain a visa, both biometric and non-biometric passports of citizens of Ukraine for traveling abroad can be submitted to Moroccan embassies.
