Are there special conditions of entry and assistance for temporarily displaced citizens of Ukraine who leave the country because of the war?

To obtain refugee status in the territory of the Republic of the Philippines, it is necessary to apply directly to the Refugee and Stateless Persons Protection Unit of the Department of Justice of the Republic of the Philippines (Refugees and Stateless Persons Protection Unit,Department of Justice:https://www.doj.gov.ph/index.html

Currently, there are the following requirements for applicants:

– having a passport for traveling abroad, the validity of which expires no earlier than in 6 months

– having a valid Philippine visa

3 passport-sized photos are submitted together with the application.

At the same time, the Republic of the Philippines does not provide special entry conditions or assistance to temporarily displaced citizens of Ukraine who leave the country because of the war.

The possibility of extending short-term stay and visas for citizens of Ukraine

It is possible to extend a short-term stay in the Republic of the Philippines without leaving the country for 1 month/2 months/6 months at any office of the Bureau of Immigration. It is possible to extend the legal stay in the country for the indicated periods up to 24 months.

Crossing the border without a biometric international passport – yes or no?

No. Crossing the border is possible with a valid biometric passport (must be valid for 6 months after the planned date of entry into the country).

What to do if the validity period of the foreign passport expires?

If you need to issue a new passport of a citizen of Ukraine for travel abroad, contact the consular division of the Embassy: consul_my@mfa.gov.ua.

Information on the extension of its validity period is entered in the passport for travel abroad free of charge on the day of application by the person in whose name the passport is issued or his legal representative.
